Riga is the capital of Latvia and the biggest metropolis in the Baltics. It is the financial, industrial, business, and cultural center of Latvia, a vibrant and dynamic city that attracts people from all over the world. Riga has a very rich history and due to its strategically advantageous location and has always played an important role as one of the biggest trading places In Europe. It was a part of many empires throughout history leaving a significant impact on the further development of the city and its cultural heritage. Breathtaking views, astonishing architecture, and an opportunity to travel through more than 800-year history of the city- an unforgettable journey in the culture, history, and traditions of the Baltic States.

Modern pagans
The main traditional ethnic festival in Latvia is Līgo, which celebrates the summer solstice (June 23rd) and St. John Day (June 24th). During this celebration, Latvians reconnect with nature through rituals, songs and dances. This pagan festival is so rooted in our culture that it is considered even more important than Christmas.
A country of singers and dancers
Latvia is a nation of singers and dancers and the Latvian Song and Dance Festival is one of the largest amateur choral and dancing events in the world. There, approximately 40,000 performers altogether participate in the event. It started in 1873 and happens every 5 years.

The Hotel
Radisson Blu Latvija Conference & SPA Hotel
High-class 4 stars hotel located in the city center, making the nearby beautiful streets and attractions easy to explore. The hotel has an impeccable location: in a few minutes you can get to the Freedom Monument, Old Town, Art Museum, Vermanes Park, Art Nouveau quarter and all the venues of our EUCO are at walking distance from the hotel.
The north wing of the hotel is completely reserved to EUCO participants, it is a private section at our exclusive disposal for a total of 300 double and triple rooms.

STEP 1: Create a workshop for all Rotaractors from ERIC
STEP 2: Create small groups and brainstorm over social project ideas
STEP 3: Elect the best social project in terms of feasibility and scalability
STEP 4: The winning project will be executed a week after the EUCO Riga 2022 in the whole ERIC and beyond.
Local Social Project
We Rotaractors are collaborating with NGO ”Tavi Draugi” (Your Friends) and we will visit them during EUCO Riga for a local social project.
You will have a chance to
1. Unload the goods from the van
2. Sort them and repack
3. Load the goods into vans
4. Send the goods to Ukraine
As soon as we load the vans they will be delivered to Kyiv and will be distributed from there to whole Ukraine.
We will organise different turns both of 26th and 27th of May, so as many of us can help and more can be delivered to Ukraine.

Our mission
After the pandemic Rotaract Europe needs to be re-ignited with our passion. We want to provide ERIC an amazing event for rotaractors to enjoy being together again. But not only this.
We see EUCO Riga 2022 as an opportunity for the Rotaract clubs of our Region to rise again.
Recently, Latvia and neighboring countries have suffered the loss of activities and many clubs closed. We are aware that things need a change and we have a big project of rehabilitating Rotary and Rotaract through different actions. EUCO Riga 2022 is a part of this, it aims to involve new members and boost ideas. For example, our post-EUCO will be hosted in collaboration with the soon-to-be-born Rotaract Tallinn International, which will be the first-ever Rotaract Club in Estonia. In addition, we are planning to create an Interact Riga and immediately involve the new members in the organization of our EUCO to inspire them to grow. We paired up with the HOC team of REM Riga 2013, which organized a successful event people still remember. With their experience in hosting an event for 400 people, we want to prove once again that Latvians are capable of creating events of a great scale.
Lastly, we were concerned about the quality and the standard of the organization of the first EUCO after covid-19. We believe logistics and management are top priorities and we have the right means and experience to give you an incredible adventure.
That is why we made sure to accommodate all the participants in one hotel, to have most of our venues at a walkable distance, and to party till the last one is standing!
